Installing Lotus Smartsuite on Windows 10 – Information.

I have had people from the answering disk take over my computer to try to fisk this problem with no success. I am know running dual boot with Win 10 and Win 7.

It is not real important to me as I can use Lotus SmartSuite used by a large number off people in Win 7. It maybe more important to Microsoft. It is hard to have respect for an operating system that can be derailed by an app. I would rather have a slow boot that works than a fast that doesn’t.

All the things you mentioned have been tried and more. Once this happens you cannot repair it by uninstalling the app or using fixes like sfc scannow. I am not a software person, so do not know the way to debug this. The one time I did have a person with more skills on my computer she was not enthused to address the problem because it was 3rd party. It appears like up are doing an upgrade which I hav e had negative result with in the past. The flashing desktop was more frequent then what the result was from a clean install. I then did a reboot and it acts like it did prior to this effort.

At the present it goes through a Loop??? I can execute Lotus app if I can get a file read in that minute okay. It appears that other functions like dropping the display after so long doesn’t happing and every other cycle I can’ t do anything, even get the windows 10 display, by pointing to the little blue window in lower right hand corner.

I guess you cannot believe anything they say. I am not sure how I was able to get Lotus SmartSuite to install and work with out causing reboot to fail, I had narrowed it down to Lotus promgram of the suite. The sequence that worked was that compatabilty selected was windows XP sevice pack 2 and instlling as administrator. Then for whatever reason the install was done on my external hard drive.

I moved the Lotus folder over to my Windows 10 internal hard drive and everything seems to be fine. My 6 – 7 year PC is running Windows 10 with my 30 year old app..
