In response to the great demand from users for image-adjustment functions, the ViewNX-i update will provide improvements to these functions as well as an additional PF Flare Control option, on top of equipping the software with all of the editing capabilities supported by ViewNX 2.

The update further includes the addition of an Edit tab workspace and adoption of the sidecar file format, which enables collaboration with Capture NX-D, to achieve better user operation and workflow. The Capture NX-D update includes more intuitive crop operation similar to that used with the ViewNX 2, and new aspect ratio options for greater variety.

The recent update also offers a number of convenient new functions, and improvements on others. Amongst the enhancements is a tool button that makes for easy switching between the displays of simultaneously recorded RAW and JPEG files separately or as a single image.

Additional functions include a tool button that rotates the image 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise each time it is clicked, whereby user can specify preferred clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation, as well as support for auto crop when the straighten function is used. For example, the positioning of Capture NX-D tool buttons will be the same as that of ViewNX-i from this version on, while tool buttons for switching between the two applications have been added to both software, for simple switching and similar operational feel.
